The men and women of the Kendallville Police Department would like to thank you for your interest in our department. The goal of this department is to work with the citizens of our city to prevent crime, reduce traffic related problems, and to make Kendallville an even safer place to live and work.

Patrol Officer Position Open
The Kendallville Police Department is announcing the opening of the hiring process to fill one (1) Patrol Officer position. This position has opened due to the retirement of a 30 year member of the Department.

Applicants must be a United States citizen, at lease 21 years old but not more than 35 years old, vision correctable to 20/50, possess a valid drivers license, high school diploma or GED, and must successfully pass all required tests, investigations, and records inquiries.

The hiring process includes Agility and Written Tests, Comprehensive Background Investigation, Voice Stress Analysis Test, Physical Examination, Psychological Examination, and Interview Board.

Applications can be obtained at the Kendallville Police Department Communications Center located at 234 S. Main Street.  Applications are also available on line here.  Applications may be returned in person or via mail only.  Applications must be received by the Department no later than April 23, 2012 at 4:00 p.m.

Current starting salary for Patrol Officer after completing the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy is $38,303.40.  All uniforms, equipment, and required training are provided to newly hired Officers.
